Janifer Lighten and her family have staunchly supported the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle (BGCNR) for many years. Along with her husband Bill, she served as a board member and actively volunteered at the Remington Clubhouse where she helped establish and engaged her children and the community in several teen mentoring programs. In addition to countless hours spent at BGCNR volunteering and supporting programs, the Lighten family and Janifer's close friends have celebrated her many contributions and honored her memory annually with the Janifer Lighten Luncheon. Over the past 4 years, this event has raised over $85,000 to fund scholarships and support BGCNR. This year marks the end of a 5-year milestone of honoring Jan’s legacy.
As a culminating event, BGCNR, the Lighten family and friends invite you to join us as we dedicate a permanent memorial to commemorate Janifer's unwavering commitment to youth and the community. We will dedicate the Janifer Lighten Teen Learning Center (JLTLC), at the Remington Club House, on June 25, 2017.
